Bastioli, which holds over 70 patents, is the first woman to receive the award and his team has won the category for small and medium enterprises. Under the brand name Mater-Bi, the factory produces and markets several lines of biopolymers completely biodegradable in different environments, such as in composting and soil. Many areas of use: from the shopper bags for collecting waste from food trays to diapers, from cutlery to dishes to glasses. Replace the plastic with biodegradable materials was a challenge winning, just think that only in Italy each year consumes 300 thousand tons of plastic sacks and bags for only the equivalent of 200 thousand tons of oil and 400 thousand tons of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere.
