was held in St. Bartholomew on Tiber Island an ecumenical prayer service organized by the Sant'Egidio Community, chaired by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan William, to remember the seven members of the religious order that Anglican Melanesian Brotherhood have given their lives for the Gospel and for peace in the Solomon Islands in 2003.
During the ceremony, were donated to the Church, a contemporary memorial of martyrs, some symbols of the Melanesian Brotherhood Melanesian brothers belonged to the seven: the pilgrim's staff, the band of the garment and the medallion with the face of Cristo.La celebration is part of the official visit of Archbishop Williams to Pope Benedict XVI to commemorate 40 years since the visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury Michael Ramsey Pope Paul VI.
